Dyslexia Week

Dyslexia Week 2020

Dyslexia Awareness Week, 5-10 October 2020, #DyslexiaCreates

Dyslexia Creates

In 2020, we will be putting aside 5-11 October to explore #DyslexiaCreates – looking at the power of dyslexia to create ideas, organisations and society and the invaluable contribution this makes to the UK. We recognise, however, that dyslexia also creates challenges and barriers so this theme will enable us to raise awareness of these and explore best practice in dyslexia support that empowers individuals to achieve their potential.

Your guide to Dyslexia Week

We've got lots of great activities going on throughout the week, and here's how you can get involved.

Raise awareness and hold an event with our Dyslexia Week resources

We've created lots of useful resources to help schools, colleges, universities and colleges across the UK to raise awareness and shine a light on what #DyslexiaCreates. From guides and presentations to posters and digital meeting backgrounds, we've got you covered:

We've also teamed up with Twinkl to create lots of free resources for teachers this Dyslexia Week. Find all of the free activities and resources on their website.

Sign our petition

Too many people with dyslexia leave school without receiving a diagnosis, or the support they need. This is something that needs to change! That's why we're calling on the UK Government to ensure there is funding for diagnostic assessments and targeted support in every school. Every child should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Visit change.org to sign our petition.

Tweet Your MP

To keep the momentum going we're asking our supporters to tweet their MP to call for change. We've created a message using Tweet Your MP to help you Tweet your MP, make a difference in 280 characters.

Donate

With your help, we can be there to support people with dyslexia of all ages to reach their full potential. Donate today and help us take the step towards achieving a dyslexia-friendly society for all.

Go Red for Dyslexia

We will also be joining forces with Succeed with Dyslexia and other organisations from around the world to take part in Go Red for Dyslexia. Last year saw buildings lighting up red as far afield as Australia and Canada for the activity, and we are delighted to give dyslexia a global voice.
